Truly an inspiring book, it lights a fire under your faith and puts the fight back into the “Walk”. Erwin McManus brings “Christianity” back to its raw roots and reveals why it’s important to be a “Barbarian Christian” and not a “Civilized Christian“. Many Christians…myself included, have been weakened by religion and rituals that the Church has slowly started operating in over the last 2,000 years. As believers it is easy to get comfortable and domesticated and read about Jesus, John the Baptist, and others with fierce faith and no compromise as mere stories for their times. McManus corrects that thinking in this book with how it is necessary today not just to believe but to be, “Found through the liberation of your soul that each barbarian walks a path that unleashes raw and untamed faith.” There is a desire in all of us to break out of these boundaries and live to the fullest; many have walked away from “Christianity” because adventure and freedom is not portrayed as an option. McManus says, ” His desire is not to conform us, but to transform us. Not to make us compliant, but to make us creative. His intent is never to domesticate us, but to liberate us.”

If you are feeling shut down, turned off, or dissatisfied by the “safe Christianity” that you have been raised in or shown as the “best way”, then let this book encourage you to live untamed with the walk that He has called you too!

Caught Red Handed

!CAUGHT RED HANDED!

Today was not just another, “walk in the park“; today was an experience that I have never felt before. Today was a move of HISTORY!  I was apart of the 6th annual WALK FOR LIFE, west coast!  Rain and shine, 40,000 peaceful protesters marched a 2 mile stretch down past all the piers of San Francisco towards the Golden Gate Bridge.  It was a beautiful display of UNITY and DIVERSITY representing the BODY OF CHRIST as we peacefully proclaimed LIFE FOR THE UNBORN!

I have never really understood why people would be so strongly against this horrific act of abortion until being convicted this year.  I was never for it, but now I understand how this grieves and pulls apart the heart of God.  We are destroying the very image of our God and Creator!  The blood of the innocent is being spilled all across our nation and it is very displeasing to the One who gave us the breath of LIFE.  My heart has been awakened by this move of abortion that has taken 48,589,993 babies just in the U.S. since 1973.  I would like to compare this number to the 655,000 soldiers that died in all the U.S. wars since 1776!  Those brave men of honor fought for our freedom and protection.  Are we willing to fight for the LIFE of even the most innocent of our nation, the unborn in the wombs of our mothers?

I believe that there will be a turn of JUSTICE on this issue of abortion, in my LIFEtime!  No longer will our nation be a nation that stands on the side of MURDER!  The facts are out and abortion clinics have been CAUGHT RED HANDED! The only innocent blood that I accept over me is that of my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.  That was to cover my sins and the sins of all mankind…yes I was BOUGHT RED HANDED! A fetus is a HUMAN BEING not a “blood-clot” or an “inconvenience”!  The killing of the unborn has given planned parenthood $1.02 Billion total income according to their 2006-2007 fiscal year! I will tell you this; just ONE LIFE is more valuable than that!  This “giant” has been taunting us for too long! It’s time for THIS GENERATION to STAND UP and RUN INTO BATTLE!!!

Will you hear the call? Will you join the fight?  Will you STAND FOR LIFE?

A Dream only Life can Give

I want to dedicate this article to Martin Luther King, Jr. and to his fight for FREEDOM and JUSTICE!

Martin Luther King was born January 15, 1929 and assassinated April 4, 1968.  He fought hard against racial segregation and discrimination and I know the fruit of his labors have made a huge impact for today’s civil rights.   Dr. King was a man of God and was a man for God’s people.  Not only did he “talk” about these important issues, he “stood”, “sat”, “marched” and was “imprisoned” for his pursuits to see his country and country men FREE. In 1964 he became the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Price for his courage to stand against these injustices.  Like I said, he earned this high award by more than just talks and empty promises, but by the physical change that his acts brought to the nation.  Dr. King was given a gift from God to rally the people together around a “DREAM” for a better country and a greater future.

Well I was not apart of Martin Luther Kings Jr.’s generation, but I can stand here today and tell you that we need to use his roof as our launching pad.  In Martin Luther Kings, “Dream” speech, he said,” I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”  I stand by these words from a wise man, a man that I know would be standing next to me on this issue of injustice that we face today…ABORTION.

Abortion attacks the very foundation of everything that Martin Luther King fought for and is tearing down our nation today.  Martin Luther King said, “Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children.“  Well where was the justice for the 48 MILLION babies aborted since 1973?  Their blood is crying out right now, who is going to speak for them? Who is going to fight for them? Our President’s not, our judges haven’t, our doctors aren’t…then WHO WILL?  (Please keep our President, Judges, and Doctors in prayer over this issue and others like it)

I’m not going to drag this issue out, it’s been debated long enough…it’s time we see a change!  Here are some things to think about on this issue, from the Creator of all things.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.” Genesis 9:6 (We are created in the image of the Creator, how can we defile Him with the killing of His own image?)

“So you shall not pollute the land in which you are; for blood pollutes the land and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.” Numbers 35:33 (I find it insane that this nation is more concerned about car pollution and global warming…when this clearly states that what’s truly polluting our land is the shedding of man’s blood)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Jeremiah 1:5 (How can you say a fetus is not a human?  This clearly states that He knew us before conception!)

“This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.” Psalm 102:18 (A people yet to be created, like you and me and billions more)

So please stand with me on this issue as we honor and respect Martin Luther King, Jr. today for being a man that would not back down for the injustices of the people.  As Dr. King said, “It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment.”, “And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.”

Do you have a passion or dream to see your City taken over and transformed into a place of Revival and Refuge for all those that are in it? Well if so, this book covers a lot of different areas and aspects that need to come together for that to happen. I’m sure you don’t need to read this book to know that it starts with YOU AND ME! But are we wiling to “move beyond convenience and personal comfort?” Rhonda states that, “Desperation is the key to transformation.” It all starts with our relationship with Jesus. Are we willing to die to ourselves and allow His Spirit to help us as we give everything to Jesus! John 15:5 says, ” Without Me you can do nothing.” If we are trying to get God into our cities by building it through our own efforts…it’s not going to go anywhere at all. Has the condition of your City broken your heart and drawn you into intercession for a breakthrough of His presence? God has a plan for His people and the cities of this world and He’s using His Bride to accomplish it! Things may not look pretty now, but Rhonda shares a very encouraging message of Restoration that will bring transformation to the Bride. This renewing of the Bride will flow from the inside out into the cities of the world! What a mighty God we serve.

In the book there are 9 important “Transitions for Kingdom Vision” that Rhonda shares. Now I’m not going to share it all…hopefully this will inspire you to read the book and take a hold of it for yourself: D

1. From Suspicion to Trust: Being, “Willing to share ministries for the glory of God.”

2. Functional Unity to Relational Unity: “Unified together for the sake of a ministry project…to a deeper level of relationship with one another and have experienced a real covenant relationship.”

3. Horizontal Agreement to Vertical Agreement: “Unity and agreement with one another…to our unity and agreement with the Lord.”

4. Revival Visitation to Transforming Habitation: “God intends to transform our cities, and not just visit them.”

5. Empire Building to Kingdom Building: From being, “More impressed with what we are building…..[to doing] what the Lord wants to build.”

So if you are Desperate for more of His presence in your life and in your city I do recommend this book to you! This book also encourages the heart to grow in Love towards the Father, so it might be a good read for this New Year :)

Resolution with FREEBIES!

Hello FREINDS,

With this New Year I’m sure you all have some new resolutions…. I know I have made a few myself.  But the biggest resolution this year for me is to allow my HEART to grow in LOVE with the FATHER.  I know some of you are saying that we are always supposed to do that, and I agree.  But I’m not just talking about saying and thinking “I love you Jesus with all of my heart!”.  I’m talking about daily, intentionally giving my HEART to Jesus so that it may grow in love towards Him. Hebrews 10:22 says, “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” It’s a new year; let’s all get our hearts cleansed and our bodies washed with His pure water!  There is something that happens when we fully surrender our heart to Him.  I found that a good place to start is by asking the Holy Spirit for help!!! The primary goal of the Holy Spirit is to cause the HEART to grow in LOVE towards the Father.  Then it’s as simple as letting Him love us!!  When we posture our heart in love before the Lord, He will overwhelm us with His love like a rushing river! Sometimes we think that we have to “try” really hard to receive His love.  Let me tell you right now, you do not have to strive or perform for His love!  He always loves us and longs for us to open the door to our heart to let Him in so that He may dwell with us.  Let’s sincerely open up our Heart to the Father!

So in this challenge of allowing our HEART to grow in LOVE with the Father, I would like to recommend some FREE resources that I have found really helpful in keeping my heart engaged.  Of course I am putting all of these resources underneath the Bible. Please check out everything you hear to see if it lines up with what the Lord is saying in the Bible.

1. The International House of Prayer 24/7 Prayer Room:

When we posture our HEARTS before the Lord in prayer and worship, we are creating an atmosphere for Him to come and dwell with us.  David’s Tabernacle was a place of 24/7 prayer and worship that reflected the thrown room of Heaven! John Crowder said in his book, ” Worship is a powerful place of intimacy which engages our HEARTS.  Out of this intimacy, we learn to hear God.” I would encourage you all to take a hold of this free resource through out the year and just receive what God has for you through this powerful place of prayer and worship.

2. Rick Joyner’s Word for the Week:

Rick Joyner is a very insightful and prophetic leader from Morning Star Ministries.  He sends out a letter each week covering the topic that he has chosen to discuss.  Right now he is sharing his thoughts on “how to be prepared for the times”.  As we prepare our HEARTS to grow in love with the Father, I believe Rick will be touching on some very basic yet important issues that will help us along the way.

3.  Bethel Church “Sermon of the Week”:

Bill Johnson and his ministry team up at Bethel Church have touched and shared on some very powerful and insightful messages over the last 15 years or so.  They have created an atmosphere of truly believing and seeing what the Lord is saying. Fill your hearts with these messages of encouragement and challenges that you can walk out each week.

4.  Mike Bickle Teachings:

Mike Bickle is the founder of IHOP and has been pressing into this new heavenly dynamic on Earth for over 10 years!  He has a heart for Jesus and teaches really practical and attainable messages that will thrust you closer to the heart of the Father. I would encourage you to listen or watch his “Intimacy with God” for this new challenge we are in.  He also has a wealth of other free messages, notes, and teachings to take advantage of.

5. Healing Herald Testimonies:

This is a place to be encouraged by what the Lord is doing around the world. Weather its healings, miracles, signs and wonders; God uses those that have given their HEARTS to the Lord.  When our Heart is for the Lord, fully, He will start speaking to us and showing us how to walk in His ways.  When we are walking in His ways we have complete access to the Kingdom of Heaven!  Jesus showed us what happens when you walk under the authority of the Father and how the Kingdom of Heaven is released.  It is not by our strength, but by the mighty power of our Father.  All that to say, you will start seeing some amazing healings, miracles, signs and wonders in your own walk. Share them so that you may encourage others in their walk with the Lord.  That is what this resource is for!

I hope that all of you take this challenge serious; and are able to plug into these free resources; the fruit will be long lasting.  I will leave you with this verse.

John 15:16 : “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.”
