No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green by Melody Green

My rating: 5 of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK, “No Compromise- The Life Story of Keith Green”! Keith’s story will not only make you want to have amazing long curly hair and mad skills to jam on the piano with no restraints; it will change your life! Weather you are a believer or not, a musician or not, this amazing testimony from Keith will rock you to the core! From start to end; Keith had passion, talent, and natural leadership skills. You will find out how his journey for something “greater” went from the hippie love/drug scene in the 1970’s, to the beginnings of a new life in Christ which supernaturally launched Keith into a forefront message that still needs to be heard today!

This “Life Story” written by Melody Green, Keith’s wife, gives wonderful insight to the man behind the music and the message. Melody shares their intense story as well as allowing us to read Keith’s thoughts directly from his journal entries! Keith was not satisfied with the things of the world that he kept chasing after; Keith was not satisfied until he experienced the only One that could truly satisfy his hearts longings. When Keith and Melody found Jesus, their lives turned around in a heart beat! Although they were young in their faith…they had found what they were longing for and held onto it with no compromises! In Keith’s black and white vision he took the Word of the Lord as truth and made sure that everyone that came across his path took it for truth as well. This new lifestyle immediately launched them into ministry, a new and powerful kind of music, as well as an ever growing hunger to see the lost saved through the message that the Lord had placed in Keith’s heart.

Keith and Melody realized how important prayer was and before every big decision they sought the Lord through prayer and fasting! Keith said, “Our whole life should be a prayer!” I believe it was this foundational truth that continued to humble the Greens as they allowed the Lord to lead them in all aspects of their lives. Keith Green really had a heart that chased after the Lord, much like King David. He longed to spread revival, learning patience in the process.  Keith was able to mature quickly in his walk as he was constantly surrounded by “newbie’s” in the faith that had him pouring out what he knew all the time. This caused him to go deeper for more so he could pour out more. Keith was also blessed with some “big” connections of wise council that allowed him to see and grow even more. From reading this book it sounded like he was always going while passing on everything he was learning to those that were in his sphere of influence. Although he was not perfect he longed to be closer to God.

Keith’s music career quickly launched him to the top of the Christian music arena. He remained humble and dedicated to the Lord, saying, “If someone writes a great story, people praise the author, not the pen. People don’t say ‘Oh what an incredible pen…where can I get a pen like this so I can write great stories?’ Well, I am just a pen in the hands of the Lord. He is the author. All praise should go to him.”

Keith recognized that it was the Lord that blessed him musically, so he allowed that to be the “tool” to share His message. What was the message that he and his “Last Days Ministries” shared? “Quit compromising with the world and start living radically committed lives” and have “A radical relationship with God, without the trappings of religious systems or dead institutions.” This message was preached to millions across the globe and thanks to Melody and the team it is still being shared today! This book really stirred my heart and caused me to reflect internally to see what I am compromising over Christ. I’ll be honest, I was in tears after hearing the messages that Keith preached. This book will bless you and encourage you to live a radically committed live to Jesus Christ! View all my reviews >>

Resolution with FREEBIES!

Hello FREINDS,

With this New Year I’m sure you all have some new resolutions…. I know I have made a few myself.  But the biggest resolution this year for me is to allow my HEART to grow in LOVE with the FATHER.  I know some of you are saying that we are always supposed to do that, and I agree.  But I’m not just talking about saying and thinking “I love you Jesus with all of my heart!”.  I’m talking about daily, intentionally giving my HEART to Jesus so that it may grow in love towards Him. Hebrews 10:22 says, “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” It’s a new year; let’s all get our hearts cleansed and our bodies washed with His pure water!  There is something that happens when we fully surrender our heart to Him.  I found that a good place to start is by asking the Holy Spirit for help!!! The primary goal of the Holy Spirit is to cause the HEART to grow in LOVE towards the Father.  Then it’s as simple as letting Him love us!!  When we posture our heart in love before the Lord, He will overwhelm us with His love like a rushing river! Sometimes we think that we have to “try” really hard to receive His love.  Let me tell you right now, you do not have to strive or perform for His love!  He always loves us and longs for us to open the door to our heart to let Him in so that He may dwell with us.  Let’s sincerely open up our Heart to the Father!

So in this challenge of allowing our HEART to grow in LOVE with the Father, I would like to recommend some FREE resources that I have found really helpful in keeping my heart engaged.  Of course I am putting all of these resources underneath the Bible. Please check out everything you hear to see if it lines up with what the Lord is saying in the Bible.

1. The International House of Prayer 24/7 Prayer Room:

When we posture our HEARTS before the Lord in prayer and worship, we are creating an atmosphere for Him to come and dwell with us.  David’s Tabernacle was a place of 24/7 prayer and worship that reflected the thrown room of Heaven! John Crowder said in his book, ” Worship is a powerful place of intimacy which engages our HEARTS.  Out of this intimacy, we learn to hear God.” I would encourage you all to take a hold of this free resource through out the year and just receive what God has for you through this powerful place of prayer and worship.

2. Rick Joyner’s Word for the Week:

Rick Joyner is a very insightful and prophetic leader from Morning Star Ministries.  He sends out a letter each week covering the topic that he has chosen to discuss.  Right now he is sharing his thoughts on “how to be prepared for the times”.  As we prepare our HEARTS to grow in love with the Father, I believe Rick will be touching on some very basic yet important issues that will help us along the way.

3.  Bethel Church “Sermon of the Week”:

Bill Johnson and his ministry team up at Bethel Church have touched and shared on some very powerful and insightful messages over the last 15 years or so.  They have created an atmosphere of truly believing and seeing what the Lord is saying. Fill your hearts with these messages of encouragement and challenges that you can walk out each week.

4.  Mike Bickle Teachings:

Mike Bickle is the founder of IHOP and has been pressing into this new heavenly dynamic on Earth for over 10 years!  He has a heart for Jesus and teaches really practical and attainable messages that will thrust you closer to the heart of the Father. I would encourage you to listen or watch his “Intimacy with God” for this new challenge we are in.  He also has a wealth of other free messages, notes, and teachings to take advantage of.

5. Healing Herald Testimonies:

This is a place to be encouraged by what the Lord is doing around the world. Weather its healings, miracles, signs and wonders; God uses those that have given their HEARTS to the Lord.  When our Heart is for the Lord, fully, He will start speaking to us and showing us how to walk in His ways.  When we are walking in His ways we have complete access to the Kingdom of Heaven!  Jesus showed us what happens when you walk under the authority of the Father and how the Kingdom of Heaven is released.  It is not by our strength, but by the mighty power of our Father.  All that to say, you will start seeing some amazing healings, miracles, signs and wonders in your own walk. Share them so that you may encourage others in their walk with the Lord.  That is what this resource is for!

I hope that all of you take this challenge serious; and are able to plug into these free resources; the fruit will be long lasting.  I will leave you with this verse.

John 15:16 : “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.”

Blessings this New Year,

Patrick Judah

Heart Condition

Here is a piece of art that I drew in 2006 when I moved out to Albuquerque, NM. I wanted to share it with you because this is a visual history time line (from right to left) of my “walk” with JESUS CHRIST. So that’s me sitting down praying; to the right, is the dark worldly forest that I broke out of that year. Above me is the hand of Jesus soaking me with His pure redeeming blood. I asked Jesus into my life when I was 4, but I didn’t understand the fullness of His love and grace until I was about 20. So I became His true friend in 2006, and He used what He had already placed in my heart, the Holy Spirit, to set me free in a lot of areas. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM and POWER. The big blue cloud, that says GOD, is His covering over me, He’s always been there for me. The Lightning bolts represent His beauty and splendor; while I was in Albuquerque I also understood what it meant to fear Him, because He is so magnificent! So the Holy Spirit is the candle; the open window in the heart represents my time away from where I had previously settled around stale air. When the window of new opportunity was opened it let in a fresh “Breath of Life” that re ignited, “this little light of mine”. The fullness of His presence, represented by the light blue cloud thing, came into my life and fully baptized me in the Spirit one night in our living room. The rainbow with music chords flowing out of the heart is the “new sound” and “promise” being released from me for others to see everyday. Notice the empty cocoon hanging off of the music note? That represents the death of the old me; and the new life, the green butterfly, is me after putting to death my old ways in the Rio Grande. I came up out of the cold river water being a brand new man in Christ. The stump is where I continue to lay my junk down and allow my God to remove any thing in my heart that is not of Him.

What are some of the things that you may need to lay down to get your heart right with God?
